Pomodoro Timer
Twenty-five minutes on, five minutes off β the little rhythm that gets big things done. The penguin keeps the beat, rings the bell, and counts your sessions.
How to use
- Set your lengths. The classic is 25 minutes of focus, 5 for a short break, 15 for a long one β but make them yours.
- Press "Start". Work on one thing until the bell rings. That's the whole technique.
- Take the break. The timer flows into your break automatically and rings again when it's over.
- Collect sessions. After every 4 focus sessions you earn a long break. The counter keeps score.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
A time-management method: work in focused 25-minute bursts ("pomodoros"), take a 5-minute break between them, and after four sessions take a longer 15β30 minute break. The rhythm keeps you fresh and makes big tasks feel startable.
Can I change the timer lengths?
Yes β the focus, short break, and long break lengths are all editable. Some people prefer 50/10 for deep work or 15/3 for admin slogs. Changes apply the next time a phase starts.
Will it make a sound when time is up?
Yes. When a phase ends you'll hear a triple beep generated live in your browser (no audio files involved), plus an on-screen announcement of what's next. Keep the tab's sound on to hear it.
How does the session counter work?
Every completed focus session adds one to your count. After your 4th, 8th, 12thβ¦ session, the timer gives you a long break instead of a short one β that's the classic pomodoro cycle.
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
The timing does β it's computed from your device clock, so backgrounding the tab can't lose time. Browsers may delay the beep while a tab is hidden, but the phase change and display catch up the moment you return.
